Biographical / Historical
This building was originally named the Lawrence J. Flynn, S.J. Broadcast Center. Its original address was 1648 Herald Avenue, but was changed to 1648 Musketeer Drive. The building was named to honor the Rev. Lawrence J. Flynn, S.J., founder of Xavier radio, and was dedicated on August 14, 1991. The building was originally part of the U.S. Shoe Corporation property which was donated to Xavier in 1978. It was home to the Xavier radio station, WVXU-FM, from approximately 1991 to 2005. Xavier sold WVXU in March, 2005. Sometime after 2005, the Center became an office building housing several Xavier services including the campus police.
