Biographical / Historical

The Sesquicentennial Campaign was conducted in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Athenaeum (1831), the forerunner of St. Xavier College and Xavier University. The purposes of the campaign were to build a new College of Business Administration building and to further fund endowments for the library, scholarships, faculty development, facilities renovation and instructional equipment. The campaign raised $8,389,683.00. Robert W. Mulligan, S.J. was president of the university at that time.
