Scope and Contents

The minutes discuss proposed debate topics as well as the debates held at each meeting. Topics of debates include: "Which is the more favorable to the cultivation of the arts and sciences, the Monarchial or the Republican form of government?" or, "Which was the greater accomplishment the establishment of American independence by Washington, or the discovery of the New World by Columbus?" The minutes also discuss the passing of new amendments for the society.
