Xavier University Collection on St. Xavier Church
Scope and Contents
Collection contains notes and timelines of the history of the church; administrative records such as pew rental receipts, certificates and calendars; ephemera such as event tickers, invitations, and programs; materials related to celebrations and memorials of specific individuals, including various Jesuit priests, parishioners, and community members; and clippings documenting significant events in the church's history such as the collapse of a wall during demolition in 1860 that cause the death of several workers and a fire that destroyed the church in 1882. It also includes a published lecture and a sermon that were delivered at St. Xavier Church.

Abstract
This collection contains administrative records, ephemera, clippings and other materials pertaining to St. Xavier Church, which for many years was closely associated with St. Xavier College while the College was located on Sycamore Street in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.

This collection is arranged in one series: St. Xavier Church. Records are then grouped by historical sketch, church administration, church events, and clippings about the church and contents of folders are generally in order chronologically.
