Jesuit Memorial Card Collection
Scope and Content
This is a collection chiefly of funeral prayer cards for deceased members of the Society of Jesus, both priests and brothers. Typically each card provides an image of the deceased, full name, date of birth, date of entrance into the Society of Jesus, ordination date (if a priest), and date of death. Some memorial cards are found that memorialize other events (e.g., ordination days, offering Mass for the first time, etc.).

History of Jesuit memorial card collection
This collection of memorial cards has been assembled by Xavier University Archives. Some of the Jesuits represented in this collection had affiliation with Xavier University. Others are Jesuits from the Chicago Province of Jesuits.

Statement of Arrangement
The card collection is arranged by entry number. These entry numbers reflect the original alphabetical arrangement by last name done by the archives, followed by additions to the collection (non-alphabetical arrangement).
